Zoom unveil the seriously impressive G11 multi-effects processor

The G11 looks like it’ll be Zoom’s new flagship release for 2020, and it’s easy to see why. It’s loaded with 48 amplifier and guitar cabinet models plus Impulse Response capability, and comes shipped with 70 inbuilt IR emulations with an additional 130 slots on offer. There’s also 68 inbuilt rhythm tracks, room for 240 patches, a five minute looper, an expression pedal and much more.

Users operate the G11 via an array of dedicated footswitches for changing patches, with five dedicated mini parameter screens allowing you to easily scroll through effects banks. There’s also dedicated knobs with LED position markers and a dedicated LCD screen for the amp section, while a 5″ colour touch screen lets you deep dive into the unit to unravel its secrets.

Connectivity wise, the Zoom G11 features two FX loops, MIDI in/out, USB audio recording and a headphones out, as well as a USB-A and USB-C port to upload IR data, update the firmware or connect Zoom’s Guitar Lab software. There’s even remote iOS connection via Bluetooth, which could be an incredibly useful feature for the canny guitarist.

While there’s a lot of competitors in the multi-effects processor space, from the specs sheet, it looks like Zoom’s G11 can certainly compete with the best of them. It’ll be interesting to see what the pricepoint is when it lands – we can’t wait to give it a spin.
