Yamaha Extends The MT Range With Two New Models

Yamaha MT-8.jpg

The new headphones extend the scope of the range in both the high and low-end of the market, with the MT8s targeting audiophiles and high-end users and the MT5s looking like more of a budget option.

The MT8s are a step up from the existing MT7s, with greater frequency response (15 Hz – 28kHz), larger drivers (45mm) and higher sensitivity (102 db/mW). They also look to be super comfortable, as are the rest of the headphones in the range, with protein-skin leather and large low-resistance cushions.

At the other end of the range, the MT5s feature a 20Hz – 20kHz frequency response and 40mm drivers, so they aren’t really too far behind the top dog MT8s. They also have many of the same features as the other models, with ABS housing and die-cast aluminium support-arms, detatchable cables, folding structure and a carry bag.
