WOMADelaide announces Fat Freddy’s Drop among final additions to 2019 lineup

The diverse festival dropped its final lineup announcement this morning, sharing the news that the NZ seven-piece will return to the WOMADelaide stage for the first time since 2014. They’ll bring their eclectic mix of dub, funk, soul, jazz and electronica to Adelaide’s Botanic Park for an unmissable Saturday night set.

Elsewhere on the lineup, WOMADelaide has teamed up with UniSA’s MOD. to showcase a futuristic art installation, planned a comprehensive KidsZone featuring a reading from Peter Helliar, and announced the addition of Senator Penny Wong and Minister Simon Birmingham to the Planet Talks program.

The festival is also set to host 16 free workshops, including a vocal masterclass with the central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir and a Ukrainian Cossack dancing class with local group Volya.

WOMADelaide is pulling out all the stops for 2019, boasting a lineup featuring the likes of Angelique Kidjo, John Butler Trio, Khruangbin, Tkay Maidza, Liz Phair, Thando, Mojo Juju and more.

WOMADelaide will take over Adelaide’s Botanic Park from Friday March 8 – Sunday March 11 2019. Check out the full lineup at womadelaide.com.au.
