Washburn expands Revival Series with two new acoustic guitars

Both guitars take their inspiration from Washburn models of the ’30s to commemorate the renowned company’s 135-year history.

Washburn Revival Solo Dreadnought RSD135-D

Built to replicate the original size and shape of Washburn’s 1937 model of the same name, the Solo Dreadnought is one of 135 guitars to be released based on the original design – one for each year of Washburn’s history. It features a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, paired with solid mahogany back and sides. The guitar references its ancestry through a ‘30s-style headstock and a Washburn “smile” bridge, alongside a faux-tortoise pickguard.

Washburn Revival Solo DeLuxe RSG100SWEVSK

The Revival Solo DeLuxe is inspired by the 1939 Washburn Solo DeLuxe Super Auditorium, with a narrow “Crown” headstock, Vintage Sunburst finish, and faux-tortoise pickguard paying homage to the original guitar. The soundboard and bracing undertook the Torrefaction process to accurately age the materials used for the new design, while a Fishman GT-2 under-saddle pickup system and Graphtech Ratio-Tuned open-back tuners add a touch of modernity to the Revival model.

Washburn Guitars are available in Australia through Musical Merchandisers.
