The dynamic duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been confirmed to be scoring an upcoming Pixar motion picture production Soul.
Directed by Up and Inside Out mastermind Pete Docter, Soul is set to feature a voice cast of Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey and Questlove and "imagines that every person on earth comes pre-installed with a soul formed and perfected in a cosmic realm," as reported by Variety. The film is set to arrive in cinemas in June 2020.
It's definitely a bit of a change of pace for Reznor and Ross, who have typically lent their scoring talents to more indie, gritty productions such as Bird Box, Mid-90s and The Social Network, for which they nabbed an Oscar for Best Original Score. Whoever would've guessed that the same dude who wrote 'March Of The Pigs' and 'Closer' would go on to score a Pixar film?
