Bass wunderkind Thundercat has today announced his next record, It Is What It Is, which is set to arrive in April.

It Is What It Is follows on from Thundercat's masterful 2017 project Drunk, and features the likes of Kamasi Washington, Lil B, BADBADNOTGOOD, Childish Gambino, Ty Dolla $ign and comedian Zack Fox. In a statement accompanying today's news, Thundercat described It Is What It Is as a cathartic experience, saying "This album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that.” He added, “It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but at different points in life you come across places that you don’t necessarily understand... some things just aren’t meant to be understood.”
