Sydney Guitar festival shares second lineup announcement

Marc Ribot will join the festivities, bringing decades of experience and a career of collaborations featuring the likes of Robert Plant, Elton John, John Mellencamp and Tom Waits. Pedro Javier González, one of Spain’s most prominent flamenco guitarists, will also perform as part of the festival, with Z-Star Trinity and The Turner Brown Band rounding out the second lineup announcement.

For those looking for a more hands-on experience, the Sydney Guitar Festival is offering workshops to dive deeper into the world of guitar, such as Geoff Tonkin’s expert advice on how to make a cigar box guitar. The festival is also hosting a world record attempt for the largest electric guitar ensemble, giving you the chance to perform alongside The Choirboys and raise funds for the Australian Children’s Music Foundation at the same time.

The newly announced guitar virtuosos will join Tommy Emmanuel, Albert Lee, Kaki King and more for the festival later this year.

Sydney Guitar Festival runs from Thursday August 9 – Sunday August 19. For more information, visit their website.
