The guitar maestro that is Stevie Ray Vaughan will never be forgotten for his work with a 6-string electric. The ‘80s can thank him for bringing back the blues with a new exhilarating attitude; Ibanez can thank him for making their Tube Screamer TS-808 and every model since extremely popular. Now one of Vaughan’s very own Tube Screamer’s is up for sale.
Made available by Seattle music store Emerald City Guitars, the Tube Screamer in question is said to have been sold by Vaughan’s tech Cesar Diaz after the groundbreaking guitarist passed away. “This is one of them. Real deal. Absolutely legendary,” says the description.
One can only imagine what it costs to get hold of this vintage pedal. Have a stab, and guess higher again. $14,700 AUD is the magic number you’re looking for. It’s well out of grasp for most, and affordable for a select few. But all can dream of what it would be like to stomp on the tour-hardened pedal.
Never, though, will it sound as unbelievably good.
