The mastermind behind Perth's premiere psych-pop outfit Tame Impala, Kevin Parker, has apparently produced and co-written the forthcoming single from global megastar Post Malone.
The new single, which you can hear a preview of below, is slated for worldwide release later today, with a couple of keen eyes on Reddit noting that Parker was listed as co-writer and producer in the song's credits. It's part of Posty's upcoming album Hollywood's Bleeding, which hits digital platforms next Friday.
Even in the form of a 30 second soundbite, you can certainly hear the Tame Impala touch on the track - it's got that gleaming pop sheen that Kevin was big into on Currents, driven by a marching groove and a trademark melodic bassline. It also definitely shows that Post Malone, as easy as it is to hate on him, certainly isn't a chump in the musical department, with the artist delivering a soaring pop vocal embelished with a distinct vibrato.
I'm sure we'd all prefer a new Tame Impala record, but hey, this will definitely do in the meantime. It's also not Kev's first foray into hip-hop - in the last 12 months, he's popped up alongside the likes of A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, Theophilus London and even copped a shout out from Childish Gambino on his last tour.
