The XDJ-XZ features a layout inspired from Pioneer’s prior CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2 hardware systems, and is able to used with both rekordbox dj and Serato DJ Pro software. Channels one and two are able to play rekordbox-analysed tracks via USB, while two additional channels let you mix in audio from turntables or other audio sources.
The XDJ-XZ also features Pioneer’s Pro DJ Link, which lets you browse tracks from your CDJs using the 7″ touchscreen to synchronise them into your mix. Elsewhere, there’s a three-band EQ on your master output (perfect for dropping the bass), two XLR inputs with independent three-band EQs and 14 Beat FX and six Sound Colour FX to add some flavour to your mixes on the fly.
There’s also 16 multi-coloured, MPC-style performance pads – eight on each deck – to let you capture, tweak and trigger samples mid-set. It looks like a pretty serious piece of kit!
Pioneer DJ is distributed in Australian market via Jands.
