NAMM 2020: Tosin Abasi debuts new Abasi Concepts models

Abasi has announced that production of Abasi Concepts instruments will be split between two facilities: a US Custom Shop, and a Japanese plant to create more accesible models for those who aren’t splashing cash. Abasi has stated that the Japanese models will feature Wenge necks with a five-bolt construction and basswood bodies, while the bespoke Californian models will be crafted from a range of carbon fibre, swamp ash, Black Limba and Wenge.

As per last year’s production run, these models will be fitted with Abasi’s signature Fishman Fluence pickups, and users will now be able to choose between multi-scale or regular scale necks. Check out one of the new models, the Abasi Concepts Larada 8, below, which features an asymmetrical profile, a recessed input jack and a glued-in tenon neck to create an incredibly unique design.

Check out Abasi giving Reverb’s Joe Shadid a run through of the new models at NAMM 2020 below, and stay tuned to hear more about them in the near future.
