NAMM 2020: Gibson unleash new Slash signature models

The Slash Core Les Paul Collection, which shares similar specs to the ’50s Standard Les Pauls released by Gibson during their comeback last year, are essentially standardised versions of various Custom Shop and Signature models created by the company in previous years. These models boast C-shaped neck profiles, AAA flame maple tops and SlashBucker Alnico 2 bar magnetic pickups, as well as that classic top hat etching on the headstock. The Slash Core Les Paul Collection is also available in four distinct Slash-themed finishes: November Burst, Appetite Burst, Vermillion Burst and Anaconda Burst.

If you’re more enticed by ‘Patience’ and ‘Don’t Cry’ than you are ‘Sweet Child ‘o Mine’ and ‘Paradise City’, the new Gibson J-45 Slash Signature acoustics will be more up your alley. Although these ones don’t stray too far from the blueprint of Gibson’s Standard series, there are a few notable tweaks to the series, namely the flatter 16″ fretboard radius and custom LR Baggs pickup in each model and the signature Scully headstock drawing. The new Slash J-45 acoustics can also be purchased in either a Vermillion Burst or November Burst finish.
