CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER- QMUSIC (Brisbane)

QMusic, best known for the internationally-acclaimed BIGSOUND Festival, is seeking an entrepreneurial and visionary individual to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer.

 

Skills Required:

  • Ability to strategically develop events and brands
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in philanthropic fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government funding
  • Established networks, or the ability to establish networks in the Queensland business and government sectors
  • Established networks, or the ability to establish networks in the music industry
  • Strong financial acumen, or capacity to develop from a good starting base
  • Deep understanding of current trends in festival and conference experience design
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Understanding of organisational development processes and good governance

Tasks Include:

  • Develop and monitor the strategic plan in conjunction with the QMusic management committee
  • Provide overall leadership for the creative and strategic development of the QMusic family of brands/experiences, including acting as Executive Producer for BIGSOUND Festival
  • Represent the organisation and its events/programs to all stakeholders and the media
  • Ensure the overall financial sustainability of the organisation by managing the annual budget and being actively involved in fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government grant acquisition
  • Directly manage the organisation’s six senior staff/contractors to ensure a positive, progressive and outward looking team culture and the continuing improvement and diversification of all our activities

MUSIC MENTOR – MUSICIANS MAKING A DIFFERENCE (Sydney)

Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) is looking for a skilled, passionate and dedicated part time team member to join their MMAD family in 2019 as a Music Mentor in Gosford. MMAD is an Australian charity that exists to change young lives through the creative arts.

 

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in Youth Work and working with challenging behaviours
  • Previous experience in delivering creative mentoring programs
  • Ability to write, sing & perform songs
  • Passion for changing young lives through music
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check
  • Current NSW driver’s license

Tasks Include:

  • Ensure policy, procedures and safe work practices are followed
  • Engage young people and the wider community through networking, promotions and relationship building
  • Support program coordinator to facilitate holistic youth development by delivering established MMAD programs (outreach, events, group initiatives and 1:1 mentoring sessions)
  • Assist to coordinate and manage community events each term together with young people
  • Report program outcomes & continuously improve all areas within your role
  • Assist in generating support for our charitable programs

HEAD OF TOUR OPERATIONS – SECRET SOUNDS (Sydney)

Secret Sounds, one of Australia’s most dynamic and far-reaching music groups, is looking for a new Head of Tour Operations to join their team on a full-time basis. 

 

Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the music industry, ticketing, artist management, production or agency preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion of the live music industry
  • Self-motived and results driven with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience and understanding of tour budgets and Australian tour circuit
  • Exposure in ticketing builds and pricing
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Exceptional ability in managing a team, workload and prioritizing tasks
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer literacy – proficiency across Outlook, Word and an in-depth knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a manner consistent with the culture and across all levels
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, sensitive to relationships and situations
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills

Tasks Include:

  • Management of tour operations team, workflow and workload
  • Oversee all aspects of tour operations as the link between GM/promoter/coordinator and international/domestic agents
  • Point of contact for artist’s management, agencies, venues and ticketing company personnel
  • Manage ticketing builds and pricing
  • Assisting promoters with budget creation and forecasting
  • Oversee and approve final routings, budgets, tour offers, contracts and settlements
  • Obtain approval on press releases, marketing plans and artwork
  • Liaise with labels on plans/ticket buy/marketing
  • Topline marketing and PR strategy
  • Development& implementation of operational procedures, processes and policies
  • Stay updated and informed on any compliance and LPA policies changes
  • Management and implantation of special projects and new initiatives for the touring team
