Midnight Oil to sell 40 years’ worth of music gear through official Reverb shop

The sale includes a selection of items that would have any avid collector digging into their bank account, including a 1962 Fiesta Red Fender Jazzmaster used by Midnight Oil during last year’s Great Circle World Tour and a 2004 Hiwatt DR103 amp head and matching 4×12 cabinet used during the 2005 WaveAid benefit shows and the 2009 Sound Relief benefit concert.

“After last year’s Great Circle Tour, our gear storage locker is completely full,” said guitarist/keyboardist Jim Moginie. “We want to pass these instruments on to musicians who will appreciate and use them. Some of the items we’re selling have been used more than others, but everything has been broken in by the band in one way or another.”

Other notable items features in the sale include a refinished and modified 1963 Fender Jaguar, an early 1960s Guild Starfire used live and in studio by guitarist Martin Rotsey, and a 1965 Fender Mustang.

The Official Midnight Oil Reverb Shop will launch on Friday November 16 via Reverb.
