Metallica's Lars Ulrich receives Danish knighthood

That's Sir Lars To You

Following his official knighthood in May, Lars Ulrich received a medal this week from Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik recognising the Metallica drummer’s long-standing contribution to music.

Sir Lars, who was born in Denmark, was declared a knight on behalf of Queen Margrethe by the Prince during his visit to San Francisco. Ulrich’s bandmates congratulated his knighthood in an Instagram post, asking, 'Does this really mean we must address him as Sir Lars now?'

Metallica are currently touring the US as part of their WorldWired tour in support of their latest album Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct.
