Maton debut new S808 acoustic guitar

Despite its smaller orchestral body size, the Maton S808 provide a super clear and articulate tone, with its scalloped bracing and 95mm soundhole working in unison with the natural Sitka Spruce top to offer a rich sound across the frequency spectrum.

The S808 also features locally sourced Queensland Maple back and sides, a favourite in the construction of Maton’s acoustic instruments, contributing a deep bass response and crisp mid-range when strummed or fingerpicked. Maton have also used Queensland Maple for the neck of the guitar, while an Ovangkol fretboard and bridge add presence to the higher frequencies of the guitar.

Elsewhere, the S808 features all the high-end appointments you’d expect from a Maton, including pearl dot inlays, Ivory ABS bridge pins, an Australian Blackwood headstock veneer, a bone nut and saddle and a deluxe Sapele Ring rosette, as well as a sturdy Maton hardcase to avoid taking your beloved guitar to the school of hard knocks.

If you’re looking for a new small body acoustic to hit the stage or studio with, look no further than this little fella.
