The Killers announce Australian tour and detail new album ‘Imploding the Mirage’

The Killers were last in Australia in May 2018 in support of their fifth album, 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful. They announced its follow up as Imploding the Mirage in November 2019 and have now provided details of the upcoming album.

Imploding the Mirage will arrive on May 29. Its first single, ‘Caution’, is streaming now. The credits for ‘Caution’ provide an indication of the high calibre help The Killers employed to bring the album to life. Foxygen’s Jonathan Rado produced the album alongside Shawn Everett who recently worked on Kim Gordon’s No Home Record.

Everett and Rado co-wrote ‘Caution’ with Killers members Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci. Australian musician Alex Cameron also chipped in. The record will feature guest guitar playing from former Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham and LA multi-instrumentalist Blake Mills. Weyes Blood, The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, k.d. lang and Lucius are also named on the album’s tantalising guest list.

The Killers will embark on a massive world tour behind Imploding the Mirage. The tour comes to Australia in November with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
