Sometimes you just need a hand. We can’t all lift heavy couches by ourselves, most of us can’t reverse parallel park, and mixing isn’t really easy. Luckily for you though, iZotope can help with one of these, with the new Neutron plugin.
Full of so-called ‘smart’ technology, Neutron can help the user by automatically detecting the different instruments and applying ‘spectral shaping technology’ to them, recommending starting points for mixes, and also by carving out more sonic space with the Masking Meter, which helps instruments sit better in the mix.
However, the company is quick to stress that the plugin won’t do everything for you, with the user ultimately having to make most of the decisions on the mix. Neutron comes in standard and advanced editions, with extra features like surround support and individual plugins being made available for the Equalizer, Compressor, Transient Shaper, and Exciter in the advanced.
Neutron will be released on October 5. For more information on iZotope products, visit elfa.com.au.
