Introducing Sydney’s new late night live soul session

Kicking off next Friday, The Harris Street Late Night Sessions is a new intiative going down at Sydney jazz hub Foundry616, showcasing some of the country’s finest up and coming groups. Hosted by DJ Aleks Mikics and placing an emphasis on all things groovy, jazzy, funky and soulful, it’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend from 11.30pm till late.

For their inaugural event, The Harris Street Late Night Sessions are showcasing a trio of funk-inflected local projects, proving that the Australian neo-soul scene DOES in fact exist outside of Melbourne. There’s Space Buoys; an improvised funk/hip-hop/house ensemble who’ve recently been spotlighted on Triple J Unearthed, as well as percussion crushers Antiphon and Brekky Boy, who have cut their teeth playing the likes of Montreux Jazz Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and more.

With more hot acts set to be announced for each session, this is definitely one to keep your eyes on.

Head to Foundry616 for all the details today!
