Ibanez reveal the eye-catching J Custom 2020 range

The four shredders of the apocalypse

Ibanez have unveiled four incredibly high-end Japanese made RG models as part of their J Custom 2020 series.

The new models from Ibanez each boast special all-over finishes inspired by the four elements: earth, wind, water and fire. They're based on two classic shred shapes from the Japanese manufacturer, and are fully spec'd to kill, featuring premium hardware and loaded with top-notch electronics.

First up, the JCRG2001 braves the weather to offer two unique finishes inspired by water and fire: Undine and Salamandra. These models feature alder bodies with exotic maple tops, as well as an illustrious RG J Custom Asymmetric Super Wizard five-piece neck, crafted from maple and purpleheart. There's also a bound Birdseye maple fretboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays and jumbo frets for maximum shredability.

In the hardware department, these new JCRG2001 models feature Lo-Pro Edge locking tremolo bridges with chrome appointments, as well as a trio of DiMarzio pickups: there's an Air Norton for the neck, a True Velvet in the middle and a Tone Zone in the bridge.

There's also the JCRG2002, which is shipping in Gnome and Sylph finishes to represent earth and wind respectively. Thses models use the same hardware and electronics as their counterparts, but make use of an African mahogany body and a wenge/purpleheart neck.
