GUITARS BUILT FROM RE-PURPOSED SKATEBOARDS

By joining their three greatest passions, rock and roll, skateboarding and recycling, the two Buenos Aires born boys set out to create hand crafted, “fully functional and transportable instruments”. Stripped of their grip tape and wheels, Skate Guitars are created by joining two repurposed skateboard decks to construct both the body and the neck.

Each board and model has its own story to tell, making every single guitar a piece of skating history. Pro Skaters Tony Hawk, Diego Bucchieri and Paul Rodriguez have donated boards to the Skate Guitar project. Danny Way also elected to have his board that was used during his record breaking jump of the Great Wall Of China constructed into a one-of-a-kind electric guitar.

It is not only professional skaters taking advantage of these Skate Guitars. American rock band, Pearl Jam, recently took to the stage with one of the maple hardwood guitars. In true rock and roll fashion, after dedicating the cover track of I Believe In Miracles to the master minds behind the guitar, they trashed it live on stage.

Whether you are looking for a guitar with a difference or just don’t want your old decks to go to waste, Skate Guitar is definitely worth a look.
