Greta Van Fleet debut at number three on Billboard 200 albums chart

The Michigan quartet placed just below Future and Juice WRLD’s collaborative effort, WRLD ON DRUGS, while the soundtrack to the latest iteration of A Star is Born held its place at the top of the charts for a third straight week.

GVF’s debut full-length studio album sold a whopping 87,000 units, 80,000 of which were album sales – making the record the best-selling album of the week in the US. Joining Anthem of the Peaceful Army in the Billboard 200 top five is Disturbed’s Evolution, following close behind at number four.

It’s a nice accolade for Greta Van Fleet to take home after a flurry of headlines surrounding Anthem of the Peaceful Army appeared following Pitchfork’s brutal 1.6 album rating. However, it seems opinion is set to remain divided on the band as Kerrang! named the record ‘Album of the Week’, noting the similarities between GVF and Led Zeppelin, but adding that “to call this a mere tribute is a mistake.”

Reserve judgement and form your own opinion when Greta Van Fleet tour Australia next year for the first time ever via Live Nation.
