Gibson roll out the Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard

For those of you who aren’t acquainted with the man himself, Dave Amato currently tours and records with REO Speedwagon, the soft rock group responsible for FM radio travesties such as ‘Keep On Loving You’ and ‘Can’t Fight This Feeling.’ This band reeks of stale Baby Boomer cheese – however, Amato also notably performed guitars on the seminal Jimmy Barnes record For the Working Class Man, so we’ll give him a pass.

Fusing the coveted design of a regular ’59 Les Paul with the modern appointments of the Axcess line, the Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard offers players with an extra-chunky neck profile, capped with a White Ebony fretboard and a swept neck heel for enhanced riffability. The new Custom Shop model also features revised back contours for a bit of weight relief from it’s hefty mahogany construction, as well as a deluxe figured maple top with a unique Boston Sunset Fade nitro-cellulose finish.

In the electronics department, the Dave Amato Les Paul Axcess Standard features a pair of ’57 Classic Plus humbuckers, making sure the instrument can wail when needed. The guitar also comes with a classic Gibson Brown and Pink case, as well as a Dave Amato Certificate Of Authenticity to ensure you’ve got the real deal.
