Gibson reveals 25 new models for 2019

As previously unveiled earlier at NAMM, Gibson have taken the ‘back to basics’ approach, returning to their classic ’50s and ’60s shapes and appointments. I’m sure many of us will be chuffed to see gimmicky additions such as Robot tuners and adjustable metal nuts removed in favour of traditional features seen on guitars played by the heroes we grew up idolising.

Notable changes and additions to the new models include ’60s style Maestro tremolos on SGs, P-90 pickups and Double Cut Les Paul Jrs, as well as some pretty funky looking SG and Les Paul Modern models. Check out the cream of the crop for an idea of what Gibson are rocking this year.

Gibson Les Paul Special Tribute DC

There’s a whole lot to unpack here, but as far as specs go, it’s all pretty standard ’50s and ’60s Gibson. Hopefully they deliver in the quality department – otherwise it’s all downhill from here. Either way, we’re pretty keen to get our hands on some of these to see what lies ahead for the US guitar giants.
