GEORGE HARRISON’S MATON TO BE AUCTIONED

Harrison used the guitar throughout the summer of 1963 when he had it on loan from Barratt’s Music Store. Harrison’s own guitar at the time was experiencing problems, and while it was in the store to be repaired he was given the Maton to use.

Though Harrison’s guitar was returned to him the same day that he took it in to be fixed, he retained the Maton and played it at a number of performances throughout England around that time.

The guitar was a Maton  MS-500 Mastersound in Tobacco Sunburst with two control knobs, two control knobs, a three way selector switch and a bigsby tremolo.

Other notable items up for auction include John Lennon’s bath robe, Jimi Hendrix’s ring, Frank Sinatra’s 1970s – 1990s address book, Lady Gaga’s stage worn latex body suit and face mask and a rare Michael Jackson red face mask.
