The German company known for extremely high quality and often quite expensive instruments has released a new line of guitars to bring the same level of high-end specs, usually way outside of most players’ price range, into a much more accessible realm. Here are the seven models in the D-Series range – have a look at the tasteful new selection below:
Framus D-Series Diablo Pro
The Diablo Pro features a flat basswood body available in two high polish finishes – Nirvana Black Transparent and Burgundy Red Transparent, as well as a Natural Transparent Satin. Hardware includes a bolt-on Maple neck, Wilkinson style vibrato bridge, five-way switch and volume/tone pots with coil-tapping for the Seymour-Duncan pickups – SCR-1n Coolrail (neck), SSL-1 RW/RP Vintage Staggered Single Coil (middle), TB-4 JB Trembucker (bridge).
Framus D-Series Diablo Progressive X
The Diablo Progressive X features a curved mahogony-backed body with poplar burl veneered top in three transparent high polish finishes – Nirvana Black, Antique Tobacco and Burgundy Blackburst. Hardware includes a bolt-on maple neck, a Floyd-Rose vibrato system in the bridge, three-way switch with volume/tone pots for the Seymour-Duncan pickups – SH-2N (neck) / TB-6 Distortion (bridge).
Framus D-Series Diablo Supreme
The Diablo Supreme features a curved mahogany-backed body with AAAA flamed maple veneer top in three transparent high polish finishes – Nirvana Black, Burgundy Blackburst and Bleached Ocean Blue Burst. Hardware includes a set-in mahogany neck, Tune’o’matic bridge and stop tailpiece, three-way switch with volume/tone pots for the Seymour Duncan pickups – SH-1n Chromecover (neck), SH-4b Chromecover (bridge).
Framus D-Series Panthera Supreme
The Panthera Supreme features essentially the same specs as the Diablo supreme above, but the main points of difference are the single-cut body shape, as opposed to the double-cut, with a three-way toggle switch located at the top of the body.
Framus D-Series Panthera Pro 7
The Panthera Pro 7 is the seven-string offering of the range and features a curved mahogany in two transparent high polish finishes – Nirvana Black and Burgundy Blackburst, as well as a Solid Black Satin. Hardware includes a bolt-on maple neck, Tune’o’matic bridge with stop tailpiece, three-way toggle switch with volume/tone pots for the active Seymour Duncan pickups – Blackouts Phase AHB-1N (neck) and AHB-1B (bridge).
Framus D-Series Phil XG Artist Line
The Phil XG Artist Line features a flat mahogany body in three high polish finishes – Solid Black, Solid Creme White, Vintage Sunburst Transparent, as well as a Solid Black Satin. Hardware includes a fat shape set-in mahogany neck, Tune’o’matic bridge and stop tailpiece, three-way toggle switch with volume/tone pots for the Seymour Duncan pickups – SH-1N (neck) and SH-4B (bridge) with chrome covers.
Framus D-Series WH-1 Artist Line (not available in the USA and Germany)
The WH-1 Artist Line features a flat basswood body in two high polish finishes – Solid Black, Solid Creme White, as well as Solid Black Satin. Hardware includes a set-in maple neck, a Floyd Rose vibrato system in the bridge, three-way switch with volume pot for the Fishman Fluence pickups – Singlecoil (neck) and Humbucker (bridge).
