Fender Play Foundation announced with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne + more

Friends of Fender Unite!

Fender has announced the foundation as a non-profit initiative to provide resources and music opportunities to equip, educate and inspire young musicians, with ambassadors which include Chris Stapleton, Avril Lavigne, Ashley McBride, Brendon Urie, Mike Dirnt (Green Day) and Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) for their inaugural run.

Among ambassadorial duties, artists will donate their time to surprise instrument drops in their local communities, provide guidance and awareness as well as donating signed instruments and memorabilia for auction.

Fender has also pledged to raise $3 million, with an initial donation of $1 million, towards educational institutions and organisations that teach youth how to play and further support will be given to the ambassador's personal charities that align with the company's mission.

The Fender Play Foundation programs will start near Fender's company offices in Los Angeles, Nashville and Scottsdale, with further cities and ambassadors primed for expansion in 2020.
