Drawing upon the design of Patrick James Eggle’s Earth model, the Dark Roast Earth model features a quaint OM cutaway shape is constructed with solid African Khaya mahogany. The top has also been torrefied, or roasted, for greater stability and a delectable finish – hence the Dark Roast namesake. Like most mahogany models, the guitar features a mellow, balanced tone, with a particularly smooth bass response and a warm treble that makes it great for finger picking.
In addition to being fitted out with Fishman Flex-T electronics, which combines a piezo pickup with a condenser microphone for a true acoustic response when amplified, the Faith Guitars Dark Roast Earth guitar features a satin-finished mahogany neck and a deluxe Macassan figured ebony fretboard for a smooth playing response and notably darker tone. There’s also a natural bone nut and bridge pins, as well as Grover Deluxe tuners, a bound pickguard and bridge and a hardcase, making this acoustic just about as good as they come.
