Dee Snider announces new solo album ‘For The Love Of Metal’

Fittingly titled For The Love Of Metal, Snider’s new record sees him working with the likes of Lamb of God, Disturbed, Howard Jones and Alissa White-Gluz. The album will act as the follow-up to 2016’s We Are the Ones, with Snider expected to tour in support of his new music – stay tuned for any news on Australian shows.

Snider shared a video talking about his latest album, kicking things off by addressing concerns that he might be a mythical creature (as you do). “Rumours that I am actually a vampire or a descendant of Vlad the Impaler are grossly exaggerated,” said Snider. “I am Transylvanian, and I do bear a remarkable resemblance. Other than that, no.”

Snider went on to say that For The Love Of Metal is a “record of inspiration” developed from Jamey Jasta challenging Snider to make “a true metal record.” He also noted that when naming the record, “there was only one name … For The Love Of Metal because I’m OG. I’m [an] original metalhead.”

“I hope you love it and enjoy it and appreciate the spirit of it because it’s as genuine as it comes,” added Snider. “It was – I can’t emphasise this enough – this wasn’t for money. It wasn’t for anything other than for the love of metal.”
