David Bowie’s ‘Lazarus’ musical is coming to Melbourne next year

The musical will be hosted at Arts Centre Melbourne for a limited season by The Production Company. It premiered in New York in 2015 and was followed by a production in London during 2016.

Lazarus features 18 songs from throughout Bowie’s career, including ‘Life On Mars’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Heroes’. The musical draws inspiration from The Man Who Fell to Earth, a 1963 novel by Walter Tevis, and the 1976 film adaptation starred Bowie himself.

While Lazarus received mixed reviews from critics, it seems most can agree that the opportunity to hear Bowie’s extensive catalogue in such a setting is reason enough to take a closer look.

Lazarus will be staged in the Playhouse at Arts Centre Melbourne from Saturday May 18 – Sunday June 9. You can sign up for ticket news on the musical’s website.
