COLTS OWNER JIM IRSAY FORKS OUT 2.1 MILLION FOR BEATLES BASS DRUM

Yahoo Sports reports that Jim Irsay is a man of many interests, and a deep passion for music truly is a frontrunner. He is said to quote musical greats like Bob Dylan and John Lennon in conferences, and often turns to twitter to lay down an inspirational line or two; in 2013 he tweeted ‘now people just get uglier, and I have no sense of time!!!’, an iconic line in Dylan’s ‘Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again’. Note that he used not one, but three exclamation marks. If that doesn’t prove that he loves his tunes, I don’t know what could.

He’s sunk an impressive amount of money on a huge collection of music memorabilia that would make anyone envious. He owns multiple guitars that were previously owned by legends like John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, Les Paul, George Harrison and Elvis Presley.

The newest addition to his collection is one of Ringo Starr’s bass drums, the very same that was used in The Beatle’s American debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ back in 1964. The price? 2.1 million dollarydoos. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Beatles, but if I had that kind of money I’d be spending it on a house, not a bass drum.
