Bitwig Studio Gets Updated for Ableton Compatibility

The most prominent feature of the Bitwig Studio 2.2 update is the inclusion of Ableton Link – an interesting addition given that Bitwig was created to compete with Ableton in the first place. Ableton Link allows Bitwig users to connect different audio devices on the same network with absolute ease, synchronizing device tempo for other devices to follow.

The Bitwig Studio 2.2 update also includes four new modulators for the DAW, allowing users to utilise polynym, quantize, sample and hold, and audio rate features to further modify their audio signal or recordings. The update also includes a new time shift device and an on screen keyboard, perfect for notating ideas and for use with a touch screen device.

In addition, a bunch of new content is included in the update, with over 3GB of loops, presets, samples and instrument packs being added to Bitwig Studio’s library. The new update will be available for free for all Bitwig version 2 license holders later in October.

Bitwig is distributed in Australia via Innovative Music.
