BILLY CORGAN TO AUCTION CLASSIC SMASHING PUMPKINS EQUIPMENT

The collection includes vintage Gibsons, pre-CBS Fender Stratocasters, and even the 1950’s accordion used on the band’s track ‘We Only Come Out at Night’.

 

Billy Corgan’s #2 Stratocaster used on Siamese Dream

Other notable highlights include Corgan’s #2 Stratocaster used during the recording of Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness; a modified 1990’s Les Paul Special used during the Machina recording and tour; an Alessis drum machine used for the loops on ‘1979’ and another featured in early Smashing Pumpkins’ demos, and the Crate combo amps used to generate the distortion sounds on Machina.

There’s also a Sonic Blue Fender Subsonic Stratocaster signed, “This is what true freedom looks like. Billy Corgan”, one of the few items in the auction signed by the bandleader.
