ARCADE SCREEN PRINTING

Owner Steve Woods and his team can provide printing services for bands on a budget looking not only for t-shirts and apparel but other march items such as tote bags. Woods took the time to take Mixdown through some of the company’s key points.

Where are you based?

Sydney but will post T-shirts anywhere. We often send shirts to W.A. & N.Z. so Brisbane, Ballina or Bendigo are easy.

Hours of operation?

8am-4pm Monday to Friday.

What are the main brands and musical products that you specialise in?

We specialise in doing short run and long run band merch. So you can get 40 t-shirts across four to five sizes instead of having to buy 100-500 tees. We use top quality base t-shirts from 4 different brands.

Are there any services you offer in store specifically for musicians?

No, but if you are looking for designers there are a few around here. I think the coolest thing we do for bands is just make shirts that are good – they fit and wash properly so people want to wear them. We can also do re-labelling and print in collar labels if you want to go big time and look like Billabong.

What do you offer that other printing companies don’t?

All our prints are waterbased inks so they aren’t shiny. We do loads for fashion and street brands where the print needs to be prime and matt finish, the same as the shirt. There are a million environmental reasons why this is also very cool. We don’t print your shirts with plastics, but mostly it’s just a professional finish.

Arcade are also fast turnaround specialists, so if you are freaking out and have 4 days before a show we are still worth a call and we’ll see what’s possible … sometimes it’s even faster as we keep 100 black tees in stock at anytime ready. Don’t try this from Perth – freight takes 5 days.

Cool, what else?

Anything you can find in AS Colour, Sportage or Ramo websites we can get at wholesale prices and print for you from tees to hoodies. Embroidered caps, printed bags and art posters are also doable along with print and hem stage backdrops. We do posters – as in art posters are an interesting thing for merch these days. We recently did 5 colour A1 hand printed posters for the Bon Scott biography for Glenno Smith. They sell for $80-$150 as they are limited edition.
