Alice in Chains release new single ‘Never Fade’

‘Never Fade’ follows Rainier Fog’s first two singles ‘So Far Under’ and ‘The One You Know’ in returning to AIC’s early straight ahead sound, satisfying many loyal fans.

In honour of its release, Guns ‘N Roses bassist Duff McKagan has penned a very enthusiastic biography for the band. McKaga compares seeing the rise of Alice In Chains‘ new incarnation, following the death of original singer Layne Staley and departure of bassist Mike Starr, to watching Rocky as a 12-year-old, referring to the band as “the underdog who put in all the hard work and experienced all the hard knocks and hidden trap doors life could throw at you, yet rose to fight back with elegance and power.”

Rainier Fog , due for release on August 24, is praised heavily by McKagan, complimenting the performance of new frontman William Duvall.

“This is a band to cherish and be thankful to have as our own. Our living and breathing gauge of what is right with rock and fucking roll,” McKagan writes.

“All I Am” and “Fly” give time for deeper inner-reflection and that classic AIC sound-scaping that we all love. From top to bottom, Rainier Fog is, like all great Alice In Chains albums, ‘all killer and no filler.'”

Rainier Fog follows the Grammy-nominated and inexplicably titled The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here from 2013, which shot to the top of Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart. Producer Nick Raskulinecz returns for the third time with the band, while Queens of the Stone Age associate Joe Barresi mans the mixing desk.

Rainier Fog will be released Friday August 24 via BMG. Before listening to the new record, find out the secrets behind Alice in Chains’ famous Dirt guitar tone.
