Australian singer-songwriter Alex Lloyd is set to release an acoustic album as part of the Liberation Acoustic series.
Acoustica will be released on May 5, and is the latest in a long line of releases in the series, with artists such as Diesel, Stephen Cummings and Joe Camilleri having previously been part of it.
Alex Lloyd has been a prominent member of the industry since he burst on the scene in 1999, winning an ARIA award for Best New Artist. This was followed in 2000 with a win for Best Male Artist, and in 2001 with the top song in the Triple J Hottest 100.
The winning song, ‘Amazing’, was his first top 40 single in Australia, and features on the new album, re-imagined alongside songs including ‘Coming Home’, ‘Black Sun’, and a cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’.
Lloyd will draw from his years of experience and seven studio albums to pull together an album that is a new and interesting look at his greatest songs.
