Fender reveals the Eric Johnson Thinline Stratocaster

The latest signature model for the accomplished guitarist sees Fender venture into new territory, designing its first custom-chambered semi-hollow Strat to feature traditional Stratocaster arm and body contours.

Two years of development led Fender to create what they’ve dubbed “tonal nirvana” with the Eric Johnson Thinline Stratocaster, combining the tones Johnson favours of his semi-hollow body guitars and his Stratocaster. The guitar is made with a semi-hollow, two-piece alder body and features either a Two-Colour Sunburst or Vintage White finish. Three single-coil pickups are voiced to meet Johnson’s specifications, while the guitar also boasts a 12”-radius maple fingerboard and 21 medium-jumbo frets.
